Saving your files on a CD/DVD on a PC

To burn data onto a CD, place a blank CD in the drive.

Go to the Start button -- Programs -- Roxio -- Easy Media Creator.

A Roxio Easy Media Creator window will appear.

Under the "Data" category, select 'Copy files to disc' or open 'Creator Classic' in the 'Applications' section.

In the next window, you may drag & drop your files and folders from the Source window into the Data Disc Project space towards the bottom right.

Rename the CD title by clicking CD's name in the Project section, and set any preferred settings. When your data is copied and set up properly, click the "Burn" button in the Project toolbar to start burning your CD.

For burning a DVD, the process is largely the same, but make sure to select DVD in the pop-up menu on the bottom of the window. Make sure to place the DVD in the DVD-RW drive, as some computers have multiple disc trays. Look through the other available formats and options within Easy Media Creator to best suit your needs.

Note: For class work, see your instructor about how to properly format your DVDs/CDs.
